This song is about Dr. Norman Whitney. He was a professor at the University of New Brunswick and taught in forestry. He was also United Church clergyman who had a profound impact on many people (including Mike Bravener composer of this wonderful tribute). He was awarded the order of Canada in 1994 for his work in the field of bio ethics. This song was written as a tribute to him while he was still alive. He passed away a few months after the song was released at age 91.
